EXPERIENCE

My Past:

EXPERIENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS

My experience as being a middle school student body officer and an active member in leadership has prepared me and given me insight on how to be a good person, a good teammate, and a good role model. An officer has to be smart, collaborative, understanding, creative, but mostly passionate if they want to lead other people. Student body treasury allowed me to learn the principles of finance and how to control our budget when it comes to planning school wide events. I have also worked closely with other secretaries, presidents, and vice presidents while part of student council and it has been really beneficial to see how a group of people can really take charge and and help guide students through the year. Along with this experience, I have also been passionate about leadership since 3rd grade. Ever since I moved to California, I have taken part in student council every year (3rd-7th grade). In addition to all of this, I also have the patience to become class officer, specifically class secretary. For the past few months, I have been working closely with the tutoring program, tutoring young students in 5th and 6th grade. This really taught me how to work closely with others but at the same time have the patience to teach and work with our youth. It has been really enriching experience. Last, but not least, I was also recommended for WEB by 2 teachers to take part in during eight grade. Unfortunately, last year, I moved schools, now at Joaquin Miller Middle School and I had to start fresh with a whole new set of people. I applied for being an assistant on Veterans Day and activities to help Miller WEB leaders with incoming sixth graders. By taking this initiative, I was able to build my confidence and determine what skills I needed to focus on.
